What this site is
Mainstream Spectrum publishes explainers and timely reporting for readers who arrive with a specific question — what a company actually owns, when a product is expected, what a set of lottery numbers were, whether a health claim holds up. Most coverage of those questions is either a headline with no detail or a page of guesswork presented as fact. We aim for the useful middle: the confirmed information first, the analysis clearly marked as analysis, and the rumor labeled as rumor.
The site currently covers 10 sections — Business & Finance, Autos & Vehicles, Entertainment, Law & Government, Games, Health, Sports, Technology, Travel & Transportation, Beauty & Fitness — across 10 published pieces, and grows as reader questions do.
Who writes it
Mainstream Spectrum is written and edited by James Morales, who researches, drafts and fact-checks each piece before publication. Every article carries a visible byline and publication date, and every article ends with the sources that were checked at the time of writing.
We use AI tools as part of the production process — for research assistance, drafting support and for the editorial illustrations that head each article. Where an image is generated rather than photographed, its caption says so. Our editorial standards page explains exactly where those tools are and are not used, and what a human reviews before anything is published.
How the site is funded
Mainstream Spectrum is free to read and supported by display advertising. Advertising is sold and served by third-party networks; advertisers have no input into what we cover or what we conclude. We do not publish sponsored posts disguised as editorial, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for links. If that ever changes, any paid placement will be labeled as such at the top of the page.

We would rather fix an error than defend one. If something on this site is wrong, incomplete or out of date, email contact@mainstreamspectrum.com with the page and the specific detail. Substantive corrections are made on the page with a note describing what changed.
